What is a
humidifer?

A humidifer puts moisture into the air - usually as a fine mist that is simpy released into the air.

The moisture is needed - dry air caused by heating and air conditioining systems drys out your eyes, nose, lips and skin and often causes headaches and coughing and is usually a trigger for people suffering with asthma.

For comfort and well-being, you should aim for 30% to 50% humidity in your home.

What pollutants are actually inside my home?

Household pollutants are contaminants that are released during the use of various products in our every day life, man-made home furnishings and outside air that is coming in from outside. 

The most common pollutants that cause allergies and have impact on our health and ultimately the ones we need to reduce are;

What filters are best?

The type of filters used in an Air Purifier determine the type of pollutants and partculates that can be filtered out - it is not a one size fits all! 
Almost all purifiers utilise HEPA filters which are excellent at removing particles such as dust and pollen, but what else do you need?

If you're looking to filter our gases from household cleaners and chemicals as well as traffic pollution you will choose a purifier with activated carbon and other filtration options.
